Error - 'Load report failed. (CrystalReportsException)...' when previewing a crystal report

Steps to resolve the 'Load report failed' error when previewing a Crystal Report in Access Supply Chain.

Written by Arthur Ashdown

This error occurs when Access Supply Chain is unable to open a Crystal Report on your machine. You can resolve it by renaming the Reports folder in your temporary file store, which prompts the system to re-download the report from the server.

Likely error messages include:

  • Load report failed. (CrystalReportsException)

  • The system cannot find the file specified

📌Note: You will need access to your machine's temporary file store to complete these steps. If you do not have the necessary permissions, ask someone who does to rename the Reports folder on your behalf.

Rename the Reports folder

To clear the cached report files and allow Access Supply Chain to re-download them, follow these steps:

  1. Close Access Supply Chain.

  2. Open File Explorer and navigate to:

    C:\Users\[Your User]\AppData\Local\Access Accounting Ltd\DimensionsX\7.2.2.0\Reports

Replace 7.2.2.0 with your system version if it differs.

  3. Rename the Reports folder to ReportsOld.

  4. Open Access Supply Chain. When you next use a Crystal Report, it will automatically re-download from the server and be available to use.
