If you see the error 'Access Supply Chain has encountered a problem' when attempting to launch the application, you can resolve this by resetting the application's local settings folder and restoring your logon settings. Follow the steps below to get started.

⚠️Important: You will need a user account with admin rights to complete these steps. Ensure you are logged into Windows with an admin account before proceeding.

Reset the DimensionsX folder

To begin, you need to rename the existing DimensionsX folder so that Supply Chain can generate a fresh one.

  1. Open File Explorer.

  2. Browse to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Access Accounting Ltd\

  3. Rename the DimensionsX folder to DimensionsX.old. Leave the File Explorer window open.

  4. Launch Supply Chain, but do not attempt to log in. Close the launcher when it appears — this will create a new DimensionsX folder in the location above.

Restore your logon settings

Next, copy your saved logon settings from the old folder into the new one.

  1. In File Explorer, browse to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Access Accounting Ltd\DimensionsX.old\7.2.2.0\

  2. Right-click the file LogonUserSettings.xml and select Copy.

  3. Browse to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Access Accounting Ltd\DimensionsX\7.2.2.0\

  4. Right-click anywhere in the white space and select Paste.

  5. Close File Explorer.

Launch Supply Chain

With the settings restored, you can now relaunch the application.

  1. Launch Supply Chain and log in as normal.
