If a stock record is locked by another user, you may see the following error message:

Record in XYZ-LOT {Lot Details} IS LOCKED BY ANOTHER USER - ABORTING NOT ALLOWED - WILL RETRY ON PRESSING OK

This error can prevent you from completing stock transactions, such as:

  • Booking stock into warehouses.

  • Picking stock.

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check for active stock transactions

Before making any changes, ensure no other users are currently processing stock transactions.

  1. Contact all users who may be working with stock and ask them to pause any active transactions.

  2. Ask the user experiencing the error to try again.

📌Note: In many cases, the lock is released once other users have finished their transactions. Always try this step first before proceeding further.

Step 2: Clear user slots

If the error persists after checking for active transactions, try clearing the user slots in System Maintenance.

  1. Go to System, then go to Maintenance, then go to User Slots.

  2. Click Delete All. This will only remove inactive slots and will not affect users who are currently active.

  3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.

  4. Ask the user experiencing the error to try again.

⚠️Important: The Delete All option only removes inactive user slots. Active sessions will not be affected.

Step 3: Contact ASC Support

If the error is still not resolved after completing both steps above, the issue will need to be investigated by the Access Supply Chain support team.

Please raise a case with ASC Support, providing the following details:

  • The full error message, including the lot details shown in the error.

  • The steps already taken to resolve the issue.

  • The names of any users affected and the transactions they were attempting.
